Flat Roofs
A flat roof is a complex structure and an important structural element of residential, commercial and industrial buildings from the point of view of the service life and the energy cost reduction.
The flat roof sustains much larger loads than the pitched roof. In addition to standard loads applicable to roofs of any type, a flat roof sustains the load caused by the environment of an industrial structure due to its often industrial application (the saturation of the air with various vapors and substances, high or low temperatures, corrosive chemical vapors, etc.). Flat roofs in the modern construction are often adapted for the transportation purposes; various engineering structures and lines are installed on them.
There are several structural designs of flat roofs; however, the professional approach to the choice of the thermal insulation, installation systems, water-proofing coating depending on the structure and the intended use of the building roof is required.
Knauf Insulation Products (TM Nobasil)
Knauf Insulation offers a broad range of mineral wool materials under its Nobasil brand for the thermal insulation of flat roofs:
- SPK 110, SPK, SPE, SPN, SPU, SPS, SPS 175, SPS 200, SAE, SAS
These materials are distinguished with their excellent thermal conductivity performance and sustain very well the pressure directed transversely toward the slab plane. This property is the major criterion for the utilization in flat roof structures. Nobasil materials are produced from non-combustible non-organic materials, and are categorized as NG (НГ) group under SNIP 21-01-07 building code.
