Thermal insulation of floors is important not only because up to 15% of heat are wasted via floors, but also from the point of view of the acoustic insulation. Acoustic insulation is an important design consideration to prevent noise transfer between rooms and apartments on different levels. Floors must be correctly specified and constructed if they are to provide the required level of sound insulation.
Several research studies have highlighted that millions of people have their lives and privacy disturbed by noise from neighbors. Glasswool products offer an ideal solution when used as a sound absorbent.
Floor structures are very different.
The joist-based floors are most often encountered in private houses. They are used in new buildings above cold rooms, as well as for the additional thermal insulation of floors.
Floors over rafters are also widespread. Such floors are convenient, if one needs rapid installation with the minimum load on the floor structure. In this case, glasswool low-density thermal insulation material can be used.
Concrete floors are most often used in the high-rise housing and office construction. The load level for premises intended for different purposes (residential, indu
strial, sports) is the main criterion of the choice of the insulation material for floor structures. The density is an important criterion in addition to the thermal conductivity for the choice of the material. In this case, high-density stonewool materials are preferred.

These materials have high values of the heat transmission resistance and sound suppression. High-density (over 100 kg/m3) Nobasil products sustain pressure directed transversely toward the slab plane very well. This property is the major criterion for the utilization in concrete floors and flat roof structures.
The quality of materials, their safety for health and fire safety are confirmed with the certificates of conformity, hygienic and fire safety.
