Knauf Insulation Ukraine took part in the openig of traditional orphans children exhibition "Easter Patterns"

The traditional children painting exhibition named "Paskhalni Uzory" organised by the Children Friends Foundation with the support from the Security Service of Ukraine was opened on 17 April in the Club of the Security Service of Ukraine. It was a great honour to Knauf Insulation Ukraine to support this contest and take part in the ceremony of the presentation of awards to winners.

The Paskhalni Uzory project is a part of the Foundation's "Bright Childhood Is Bright Future" programme focused on involving children brought up in boarding schools of Ukraine into the celebration of the traditional Ukrainian holidays. According to organisers, the participation in the programme contributes to the aesthetic, artistic and spiritual developed of orphaned children and improves their psychological condition.

This event has already become a tradition; it has been organised by the Foundation on the Easter eve for the third time. The exhibition was held in Kharkiv for the previous two years. Pupils from 25 boarding schools of 14 oblasts of Ukraine took part in the contest this year. The exhibition opening and award ceremonies were attended by 300 children from Vinnytsia, Volyn, Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia, Luhansk, Lviv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Kharkiv and Cherkasy Oblasts. The contest participants toured Kyiv, its museums and historical attractions for two days.

The preparation and the pre-selection of paintings were held in boarding schools and February to April 2008. The best paintings were selected for the demonstration at the exhibition in Kyiv. The paintings were evaluated by a professional panel chaired by Viktor Sydorenko, People's Artist of Ukraine, Member of the Academy, Vice President of the Academy of Arts of Ukraine, Director of the Modern Art Problems Institute. Representatives of state authorities, culture workers and artists, and sponsors were invited to the children paintings exhibition.

According to Andriy Pavlyk, Director of Knauf Insulation Ukraine, this exhibition became an important event in the life of every child; it helped the children to feel themselves as full-fledged members of our society.

Knauf Insulation Ukraine has recently supported the Ukrainian national "Creativity plus Quality" architecture contests organised by TPK Company. Architects of the Future, one of the contest projects organised for students, has aimed at discovering young talents, supporting their professional development and growth.

"Thanks to the programme organised by the "Friends of Children" Foundation, hundreds of orphaned children get an opportunity to come and see Kyiv, to talk to other kids and to feel that they have not been left alone. We are glad that our thermal insulation materials are not only capable of making Ukrainian houses comfortable, but also that we can share our warmth with children who need it", Andriy Pavlyk states.
