Sustainable future and Ukrainian Reality
Anna Dukhno, Business Development Manager of Knauf Insulation Ukraine, took part in the first scientific conference on the drywall construction systems, "The modern technologies implementation in the educational process," which took place on 15 November 2011, at the Kiev National University of Engineering and Architecture (KNUBA).
The specialist spoke on "Environmental security insulation - a step towards sustainable future”. Speaker focused on such issues as growing demand for energy efficiency and environmental friendliness, and also shared about the importance of using innovative and safe insulation materials in buildings.
"The causes of inefficient energy consumption in Ukrainian homes, - focused attention Anna Dukhno - are the lack of adequate control for compliance with standards for construction, shortage of technical knowledge on energy efficient construction of the public, architects and design companies, insufficient awareness among investors, owners and users about the possibilities to reduce energy consumption in buildings. Another important reason for over-energy consuming houses is a lack of motivation to save energy due to subsidies and relatively low rates".
The participants of the event were able to get an idea on how energy consumption can be effectively reduced while maintaining comfort and creating a favorable microclimate in the premises. Business Development Manager of Knauf Insulation Ukraine outlined the main trends in the market for construction materials and consumer preferences. In addition, A. Dukhno told the KNUBA students as future professionals of construction industry, which insulation materials are most in demand for application in buildings.
The event was organized by Knauf Gips Kiev and Association "Building materials and products". The conference was dedicated to the 5th Anniversary of educational program for experts on modern building materials and integrated systems that KNAUF company implements jointly with KNUBA.
